Make a fresh noise file using your current channel levels and master volume. This renders a new soundscape, rather than recording live playback. The stop timer does not set the file length.

Longer WAV files need more memory. Start with a short file on your phone. Changing the sliders after preparation does not change the saved file; prepare it again for a new mix.

Generated locally. No microphone access or audio uploads. On iPhone, if you hear nothing, turn off Silent Mode and check media volume. Playback may pause when your browser or device sleeps.

What is pink noise?

Pink noise spreads equal power across equal frequency ratios, such as octaves. That makes its higher-frequency content less prominent than white noise. To a listener, it often comes across as a softer, more balanced wash.

The texture may remind you of rushing water or steady rainfall, but this tool synthesizes noise. It does not play a rain recording.

Build a pink noise mix

  1. Keep your device volume low and press Play my mix.
  2. Use the pink noise slider for the channel level and Volume for the overall loudness.
  3. Add brown noise to bring out a deeper layer. Add white noise if you prefer more hiss.
  4. Set a stop timer for a short listening session, or leave it off for continuous playback while the browser stays active.

Pink noise vs. white noise

White noise has equal power per unit of frequency. Pink noise reduces the higher-frequency contribution, giving it a less sharp sound. Brown noise goes further toward the low end. The table below lets you compare all three.

A few things to know

Is pink noise the same as rain?+

No. Rain is a natural sound with changing patterns and details. Pink noise is a synthetic noise spectrum. Some listeners find the textures similar, but they are different sources.

Why can I still hear other sounds?+

A background sound does not physically block noise. How much it changes your listening experience depends on the surroundings and playback equipment. Avoid turning it up simply to overpower loud sounds.

Does it remember my volume?+

Yes, if your browser allows local storage. This page remembers its three channel levels on this device, and master volume is shared across the generators. Private browsing or clearing site data can remove those settings.

All sound is synthesized locally. No microphone permission, account, or audio upload is required. These noise colors are background sounds, rather than recordings of ASMR triggers.
